Sahyadri Wildlife Foundation
SWF was registered on 23rd April 2021 with the intent to protect, conserve and restore lost wildlife habitat in the Sahyadri range. The looming climatic crisis and mounting pressure on natural ecosystems is a cry to reinstate balance and stability, ensure survival of the wild species, and to educate people to live sustainably on our ‘borrowed’ planet. Our ambit and ethos cover, but are not limited to, Technical inputs towards the revival of degraded forests, Safeguard culturally important species which face habitat loss threat, Harbour a sound ecological system to reinstate and repopulate these threatened species back in their natural habit, Bring attention to the Sahyadri forest area - an important corridor for ‘Big Cat’ movement between the South Western and North Western ghats.
